Last night, American singer-songwriter Noah Kahan kicked off his ‘The Stick Season – We’ll All Be There Forever’ tour at a sold-out Rogers Arena in Vancouver, BC
Kahan brought American singer and poet Jensen McRae as support act. The young singer-writer gained prominence for her debut singles “White Boy” and “Wolves”. She easily charmed the audience with her thoughtful lyrics and great vocals.
Shortly after 9pm, Noah Kahan, the undeniable breakout artist of the past few years, appeared on stage with his guitar. Opening with “Dial Drunk”, “New Persceptive” and “Everywhere, Everything”, he immediately captivated the fans with his powerful vocals, tight band, witty humour and charming banter in-between songs. The crowd loudly sangalong to almost every song, especially the more popular “Stick Season”, “Northern Attitude” and “Homesick.” He also shared a unreleased track “Pain Is Like Cold Water”.
With a minimalist stage setup, Kahan‘s performance felt remarkably intimate, amplified by his heartfelt anecdotes about his experiences in the Boston area and his ability to connect directly with his fans. Supported by a small band, including guitar and drums, Kahan remained the focal point throughout the show, occasionally switching guitars to match the mood of each song.
Noah Kahan delivered a performance devoid of gimmicks, allowing his talent to shine through as he sang with heartfelt authenticity. His prowess as a musician and performer was evident, effortlessly connecting with thousands in the audience and holding them spellbound for over almost two hours. If you have the opportunity to see Noah Kahan live, don’t hesitate! It’ll be worth it. You can find all tour dates on his website.
