Julia Sound – Julia Sound (Album Review)

Artist: Julia Sound
Album: Julia Sound
Release Date: March 22, 2024
Genre: Electronica/ Instrumental

Julia Sound, the trip-hop-infused electronic music project from award-winning composer, producer, and music director Lin Gardiner, is back with an eponymously titled third album.

Julia Sound is a collection of largely improvised instrumentals:

“I was keen to explore the blend of some old synths, with new plugins, so the textures here are mainly an array of Native Instruments and Re-FX mixed with classic analogue synths”, says Gardiner.

The seven-song album was released via Boomsmack Records on March 22, 2024.

“Good Company” spans just over three minutes, captivating listeners with its infectious melodies and dynamic landscapes, transporting them to a realm of neon dreams and electronic wonder. The haunting yet uplifting melody evokes a range of emotions, from introspection to exhilaration, throughout the entire track.

“Things Get Better” bursts onto the scene with lively soundscapes that embody optimism and resilience, reassuring listeners that brighter days are ahead, despite the challenges. From its opening bars, the engaging arrangement propels the listener forward with unstoppable momentum.

Overall, “Julia Sound” is a mesmerizing instrumental album that guides listeners through a sonic landscape filled with boundless imagination and emotion. Whether you’re a fan of electronica music or simply seeking beauty and inspiration, “Julia Sound” is certain to leave a lasting impression that lingers long after the music has ended.
