CHORUS OF COURAGE PROJECT RELEASE POWERFUL NEW ALBUM, ALWAYS BY YOUR SIDE
Chorus of Courage is a fluid conversation that holds the beauty and the horrors of lived experiences– it is an attempt to find some words and meaning, together, as a collective.
The debut album, Always By Your Side, is out in the world now (released March 22 via Dare to Defy Records). It’s the result of a deeply synergistic call and response between storytellers and their allies, the group of songwriters who have given voice and expression to the members who are survivors of violence.
The album kicks off with the four-on-the-floor anthem “Burn It Down,” a collaboration between storyteller and survivor Heather, brought to life by singer-songwriter Cindy Doire.
Heather’s narrative sheds light on the deeply entrenched issues of victim-blaming, shaming, and the flawed dynamics within the justice system, especially concerning cases of gender-based violence.
“Burn It Down symbolizes the collective resolve to dismantle the systemic structures that perpetuate violence and oppression,” shares Cindy. “It signifies a call to action to challenge patriarchal norms embedded in our society. The title embodies the spirit of defiance and empowerment, advocating for a new culture rooted in consent, respect, and equity.”
By sharing Always By Your Side’s songs of resilience and hope, the group would love to inspire empathy, ignite conversations, and catalyze positive change.
