Time to begin this week’s list of incredible music with JJ Shiplett, celebrating the release of his fourth studio album A Way Through Time via Red Buffalo Records. This new album was written over the course of a few years in and around Shiplett’s home. Moving on to the next recommendation will be, Adult contemporary-pop singer-songwriter Steven Ryan. Who’s unveiled his extended version of his album Life, Love & Everything After via. Canary Minor, can be heard across all your favourite streaming platforms right now. It was released last September, including an incredible collection of 15 diverse tracks. The extended edition of the album will feature 5 additional songs that explore themes of life, love, loss, and mental health. This is gonna be our first artist that is nominated for a Juno Award on our list this week. Celebrating Toronto-based reggae-fusion artist Ammoye and her nomination for the 2024 Reggae Recording of The Year, with her incredible song “Stir This Thing”. You can find it across all your favourite streaming platforms and was produced by Donesome Records, as a reggae dancehall tune that features a collaboration with reggae vocalist Turbulence. This is going to be the runner-up for the top spot on my list of the best new music this week. Immersing the listener in an irresistible world of dark pop-rock decadence, “Homewrecking Era” by Xana is out now. It tells the tale of shamelessly indulging in an addictive and destructive relationship, grappling with conflicting emotions but ultimately succumbing to desire. This spot is reserved for our international artist who is featured in Canadian Beats Passport. That is none other than New York City postpunk philosopher Gina Volpe from the band, Lunachicks.
