Now let’s get into the amazing music that is coming up here on this week’s edition of Zach’s Picks Of The Week.

Five

Time to begin this week’s list of incredible music with JJ Shiplett, celebrating the release of his fourth studio album A Way Through Time via Red Buffalo Records. This new album was written over the course of a few years in and around Shiplett’s home. It includes the brand new single “Reckless Heart” which you can find on all your favourite streaming platforms right now. As well as checking out the article we have linked right here.

Four

Moving on to the next recommendation will be, Adult contemporary-pop singer-songwriter Steven Ryan. Who’s unveiled his extended version of his album Life, Love & Everything After via. Canary Minor, can be heard across all your favourite streaming platforms right now. It was released last September, including an incredible collection of 15 diverse tracks. The extended edition of the album will feature 5 additional songs that explore themes of life, love, loss, and mental health. Be sure to check out the whole album within the article we have an interview with Steven Ryan that you should check out right through the link here.

Three

This is gonna be our first artist that is nominated for a Juno Award on our list this week. Celebrating Toronto-based reggae-fusion artist Ammoye and her nomination for the 2024 Reggae Recording of The Year, with her incredible song “Stir This Thing”. You can find it across all your favourite streaming platforms and was produced by Donesome Records, as a reggae dancehall tune that features a collaboration with reggae vocalist Turbulence. Be sure to check out the brand new interview with Ammoye who is in the article that we have linked here.

Two

This is going to be the runner-up for the top spot on my list of the best new music this week. Immersing the listener in an irresistible world of dark pop-rock decadence, “Homewrecking Era” by Xana is out now. It tells the tale of shamelessly indulging in an addictive and destructive relationship, grappling with conflicting emotions but ultimately succumbing to desire. She boldly embraces the villainous role of the “other woman” without a hint of remorse. You can listen to the track on all your favourite streaming platforms and learn more within our article, here.

BONUS: Canadian Beats Passport

This spot is reserved for our international artist who is featured in Canadian Beats Passport. That is none other than New York City postpunk philosopher Gina Volpe from the band, Lunachicks. Her debut solo album, Delete The World is also her latest single to be featured on our website. It’s a hymn to the life-saving power of escapism, the song finds Volpe with daydreaming on her mind. Be sure to daydream your way all the way to our article with the amazing title track linked here.

One

Now we have reached my final recommendation of the week, so allow me to introduce you to the genre-defying musical force, Alexandra Lost.
