Omnivide – Five Questions With

Omnivide Shares New Album, A Tale Of Fire

Moncton, NB’s Omnivide is a dynamic metal force formed in 2020 by members of the Sunbird project, and they have just unveiled their album, A Tale of Fire.

Breaking away from paying homage to others to enter the realm of original music, Omnivide fuses progressive metal, death metal, and melodic/symphonic metal into a grandiose, brutal, beautiful, dark, and melancholic sonic experience.

First off, care to introduce yourself to our readers?

We are Omnivide and we are from Moncton, New Brunswick Canada!

Tell us a bit about your most recent release.

Musically, the album is a blend of our favorite elements from progressive metal, technical death metal, death metal, and symphonic/power metal. It has a wide range of styles and blends of riffs that make for a rollercoaster of emotions when you listen to each song. Our goal with the songs is to make listeners feel an overwhelming urge to headbang to the heavier sections, feel the strong emotions of the more grandiose/epic sections, and feel the mysterious energy of the cleaner/more laid-back sections.

Lyrically, this song is about someone who dies and is in limbo or in search of the afterlife so the song has very dramatic orchestral elements to it, dual guitar/keyboard solos and some tasty death metal riffing almost like a conversation between the dead and the living.

Do you have any upcoming shows you’d like to tell us about?

We are planning a tour in March/April all over New Brunswick, Quebec, and Ontario, you can follow our socials for all the details.

If given the chance, which Canadian artist would you love to work with in the future?

It would be an honor to play with Beyond Creation someday! It would be amazing to have Christian Donaldson from Cryptopsy mix and master the next Omnivide album.

What’s your goal for 2024?

The goal for 2024 is to keep progressing as musicians and to finish writing the second Omnivide album so that there isn’t too much time between albums! We have some covers of Necrophagist and Obscura that we would like to perfect this year as well.
