Olivia shares,
“Picture a cold, grey winter day – and my car decides to break down. As a 23-year-old girl, my initial reaction was? Tears, of course. But, after calling my dad and getting a tow truck en route, I reached out to my friend and co-writer, Jay Allan. At that moment, stranded by the roadside, I told Jay, ‘One day, we’ve got to write a song about a car that won’t let you down and a boy who won’t break your heart.’ His immediate question: ‘Liv, are you on the side of the road?’ Surprisingly, that’s how we wrote the entire song – over the phone! When it came time to add production, I knew I wanted to capture the essence of the foreway blinkers of my car, the beat we used while crafting this tune.”
The accompanying music video, filmed in Norfolk County’s Delhi, complements the song’s narrative, capturing the essence of the cold, rainy night that inspired the song. Videographer Alex Franklin, who also hails from Norfolk County, brings the local touch to visual storytelling throughout this music video.
