FAIRLANE TEAMS UP WITH POINT NORTH ON IRRESISTIBLE ROCKTRONIC SINGLE, “NOT MY NIGHT”

From the mind of Canada-based Tyler Mead, Fairlane is a multi-talented artist combining DJ sets with mesmerizing guitar performances, and is swiftly rising in the dubstep scene. Now, he has joined forces with one of LA’s top rock bands, Point North, to deliver their infectious new single, “Not My Night.”

Released on renowned label Monstercat Uncaged on Wednesday, February 28th, “Not My Night” transports listeners to the early 2000s punk rock era of music, while seamlessly weaving in modern electronic production. The combination of Point North’s gripping vocals with Fairlane’s high-level sound design and sequences of melodic bass, make this tune equally primed for festival crowds and punk-rock fans.

This anthem follows up Fairlane’s debut collaboration last month with Silverstein on “Take It Back.” Beyond embodying a thrilling fusion of rocktronic, it led to this viral clip of Fairlane playing the track live.

Fairlane shares,

After getting to hear an early version of the song, I IMMEDIATELY wanted to work on it – the vocals were so catchy and fun! I had just finished setting up a little workspace in the sunroom of my house in Denver; it is nothing more than a pair of monitors and a desk, but felt like the right environment to work on this. I did not leave that room for 14 hours straight. The entire track idea came together so effortlessly, which is indicative of Point North’s great songwriting!

Overall, the finished product is a melting pot of genre and soundscapes. Not entirely rock, not entirely electronic music, somewhere in the middle. Plus, there is a change in key at the end, which is a very “early 2000s pop” thing to do, but I love the fact that not many other dance records have done this.”

In his career thus far, Fairlane has released official remixes for Rihanna and Ava Max, collaborated with the likes of SLANDER and Vanic, and racked up hundreds of millions of collective streams. On top of his breathtaking sound design, this skilled artist has toured alongside ILLENIUM, Gryffin, and Wooli, with performances at Ubbi Dubbi, Lost In Dreams Festival, and the Hollywood Palladium, to name a few. His unrivaled ability to blend live guitar and electronic production shines brightly across “Not My Night.”

Boasting an impressive resume as well, Point North has garnered more than half a billion collective streams towards their electrifying hits. In addition to the widespread success of their third album, Prepare For Despair, this past August, the band has released music with dance music’s biggest acts, from Two Friends to Kayzo. Touring alongside rock legends such as Escape The Fate and Sleeping With Sirens, this Billboard chart-topping trio will continue to ascend to the pinnacle of the global rock circuit.

Between “Not My Night” and “Take It Back,” Fairlane has proved to be at the forefront of the rocktronic space, trailblazing the way for the future of the genre and live-electronic hybrid music. With more captivating releases and touring on the way, he is unquestionably an artist to have on your radar throughout 2024.
