earth2zoe – Five Questions With

earth2zoe Shares Chilling New Single, “Thirty”

After a journey through the tumultuous waters of the music industry, indie pop sensation earth2zoe emerges stronger and more determined than ever with her latest single, “Thirty.” Teaming up with her longtime collaborator and co-writer Aaron Hirshberg, and the visionary producer Giordan Postorino (session musician for Alessia Cara), earth2zoe unveils a haunting masterpiece that delves into the depths of introspection and uncertainty.

Following a string of successes and challenges, earth2zoe’s creative journey takes a bold new turn with “Thirty.” Drawing inspiration from the profound question of “what’s going to happen when I’m thirty?” earth2zoe navigates the complexities of growing older and the haunting echoes of past relationships with raw honesty and vulnerability. The song serves as a poignant reminder of the emotional turbulence that accompanies the passage of time, offering listeners a glimpse into the artist’s innermost thoughts and fears.

Speaking about the collaborative process, earth2zoe reflects on the synergy between herself, Aaron Hirshberg, and Giordan Postorino.

“Creating ‘Thirty’ was a cathartic experience fueled by our shared vision and mutual understanding,” she shares. “I think everyone goes through a stage in their life where they’re like holy smokes, another birthday.. its getting real now, that’s exactly what I wanted listeners to feel.”

“I brought Aaron, an exceptional talent into a session to co-write and the second we got the demo, after the session, I knew out of the 115 unreleased songs we have written, it was one I wanted to put out.” Together, we tapped into the darkness and emotional depth of the human experience, crafting a track that resonates with authenticity and raw emotion.”

As earth2zoe continues to push the boundaries of her artistry, she embarks on a new chapter of independence and self-discovery. Making the decision to recently part ways with her record label, earth2zoe is poised to unleash her most authentic and compelling work to date. With a renewed sense of purpose and creative freedom, she is set to release a summer EP that promises to captivate and inspire audiences around the world.

First off care to introduce yourself to our readers?

I’m earth2zoe, an indie pop artist from a suburb north of Toronto. I’ve always been drawn to storytelling, particularly the darker, more introspective ones that often go untold. Through my music, I strive to turn these narratives into catchy tunes that resonate with listeners on a deeper level. It’s all about taking those raw, authentic experiences and channeling them into something relatable.

Tell us a bit about your recent release.

“THIRTY” is the first single off my upcoming EP and delves deep into the question that’s often been on my mind: what’s going to happen when I’m thirty? It’s a track that explores the complexities of growing older and the lingering memories of past relationships with a raw honesty that I hope resonates with listeners. This song is a reflection of the emotional rollercoaster that comes with the passage of time, offering a glimpse into my innermost thoughts and fears. This song represents a significant milestone in my artistic journey—it’s a culmination of my growth as both a songwriter and a performer. With each lyric and melody, I’ve pushed the boundaries of creativity and self-expression, inviting listeners to join me on a journey of introspection and self-discovery. I’m excited to share this piece of myself with the world and to continue evolving as an artist.

How do you typically go about the songwriting process? Do you have a specific method or creative routine that you follow?

My songwriting process is quite fluid-It doesn’t always follow a specific method or routine. Sometimes inspiration strikes with a catchy melody, while other times it stems from a line or idea that I’ve jotted down or from a personal experience that has deeply resonated with me. When I enter a writing session, it’s like entering a therapy session. I open up and share my life’s ups and downs with my collaborators, whether it’s a producer or a co-writer. In the case of “Thirty,” the song was born from a conversation about the craziness of adulting and some recent events in my life. I’ve always pondered questions like, “What’s going to happen when I get older?” or “What’s it going to be like when I hit thirty?” These questions formed the foundation of the song, and from there, we began crafting the lyrics and melody to capture the essence of those thoughts and emotions. It’s a collaborative process that allows me to delve deep into my own experiences and emotions, resulting in music that feels authentic and meaningful.

Looking ahead, what are your plans for supporting this new release? Are there any upcoming tours, music videos, or additional content that fans can look forward to in connection with this project?

While I can’t spill all the beans just yet, I can tell you to keep those eyes peeled because there’s plenty of excitement on the horizon. For now, I will say that I’ll be dropping an EP by this summer—a collection of tracks that delve even deeper into the themes explored in “Thirty” and beyond. This EP will serve as the cornerstone for everything else to sprout from, setting the tone for what’s to come.

Looking back on your musical career, is there a particular moment or accomplishment that you consider a turning point or a highlight?

Looking back on my musical journey, there’s definitely a standout moment that I consider a turning point—a moment that set the stage for everything that followed. Since rebranding as earth2zoe, I’ve been on a mission to carve out my own unique space in the music world. And that mission took a major leap forward with the release of my debut single, “Hallie’s Song.” Which made its mark on the Billboard Hot AC chart, climbing all the way to #26. It was a surreal moment—one that validated all the hard work and dedication I’d poured into my craft.

Last but not least, it’s time to pay it forward, what upcoming band or artist would you recommend your fans check out?

I would definitely recommend checking out Gracie Abrams, I absolutely love her music and she has been killing it!
