Award-winning songwriter Abby J Hall steps into her own with the release of “better,” her first release of 2024. Opening with a piano-driven melody and brought to life with the unmistakable power of Hall’s enchanting vocals, “better” delivers a powerful ballad that reminds listeners it’s impossible to ever truly know what someone is going through.
Written by Hall and produced by Tal Vaisman, “better” came together in 2021 and quickly became a fan favourite at live shows.
“Every time I played ‘better’ it resonated with someone in the audience and that is one of the biggest reasons we picked it as my first single off this new project,” explained Hall. “I feel like this new batch of songs is unapologetically me and I’m really happy that they are allowing me to connect with others through a shared personal experience.”
Kicking off Hall’s next chapter as a songwriter and performer, “better” tells the all too relatable story of giving more than you receive in a relationship. Setting the foundation for what’s to come from Hall this year, the track reminds listeners that making themselves a priority is truly the only way to feel better in an unbalanced relationship.
“I really hope this song reminds people that, while they might feel stuck in a situation that isn’t working for them, they are not alone.
