Toronto’s Cassie Dasilva Shares New Single, “Middle Child”
Hot off her first single of 2024, “Part of the Club”, Toronto’s Cassie Dasilva is back with her highly-anticipated follow-up, “Middle Child.”
The new single, reminiscent of its older sister and 2021 hit single “Unsolicited Contact”, is a reflective look back at Dasilva’s childhood. Its reflective nature and captivating lyricism explore themes of self-identity and her adolescent experiences in a way fans can connect with.
“It’s a complex role to be in— but it’s also one of the main reasons why I write songs and tell stories today.” Dasilva says about her role as the middle child in her family.
The song’s complexity and nuances are an important layer she hopes her fans will take away after listening.
Dasilva adds,
“It’s not an overly self-confident song like it might appear on the surface. Truthfully I’m acknowledging things that have caused a lot of pain, but I think there’s a strength that comes from shining a light on your insecurities.”
