ZACH’S PICKS OF THE WEEK – JANUARY 29 TO FEBRUARY 3, 2024

ZACH COOPZ RETURNS WITH HIS TOP PICKS FROM CANADIAN BEATS MEDIA

What time is it?! New music o’clock, so naturally it’s time for Zach’s Picks Of The Week! The best place to find extraordinary bands and musical artists every single time you come back. It’s Music Monday here on Canadian Beats Media and that means I have this list of my favourite articles, that were posted this past week on our website. There is so much more to check out for yourselves if you don’t appreciate my choices. I won’t be hurt, I just want to make sure you have something new to listen to on your music playlist. Coming up in this post you will find the link to each of these articles, as well as a short clip in this week’s video from each of my recommendations. So what do you say we get started, turn up the music because it’s gonna get loud in here!

Five

Let us begin this week’s list with returning, Five-time CMA Ontario nominated country artist, Nicole Rayy. She’s back to unveil her latest single, “Guilty” across all streaming sites. This is not your typical love song, because it paints the picture of a love, so good it could be illegal. Giving off country rock vibes, be sure to go and check out Nicole Rayy’s latest single and interview here.

Four

This recommendation is going to highlight a Vancouver-based musician, whose empowering new single is out now. Devon More shares “My Body Is,” the latest off her new album Sky Is Falling, which is set for release on February 29th. However the new single, “My Body Is” is a powerful anthem for the fundamental right of bodily autonomy. You can learn more about Devon More in our latest Five Questions With segment and watch the lyric video here.

Three

Next up on my list will be the rising Canadian alternative/indie artist, Aysanabee. He recently announced a collaboration with American singer-songwriter Raye Zaragoza on the track, “Come Out”. You can find it available everywhere now on all streaming platforms thanks to Ishkōdé Records. It showcases the voices of two of Turtle Island’s fastest-rising Indigenous artists. “Come Out” burns bright, it builds as it begs for clarity, direction, and reassurance within the lyrics. Be sure to go on listen to the new single, as well as check out the article for Aysanabee’s latest track here.

Two

Coming up right now on my list of incredible music will be singer-songwriter Laraw from Montreal. She has just revealed her third single, “Standby Baby” through Bravo. She openly expresses her feelings about a relationship in which she feels devalued, it’s available across all streaming sites now. However, you can also listen to it in an article where we have one of our Five Questions With segments, with the amazing Laraw here.

BONUS: Canadian Beats Passport

Our bonus recommendation featuring one special international artist will be highlighting, Detroit-born, Duluth-raised musician, Sean Lafontaine. Who blends rock and metal in his gripping narrative-driven music. We have teamed up with Sean & V13 Promotions to share the brand new single, “Thorn” from his upcoming EP. So go ahead and listen to Sean Lafontaine’s latest single here.

One

Now, for this week’s final recommendation, I’m sure we all remember the glory days of the 80s. Well inspired by the iconic saxophone of Tim Cappello, electric metal shredders Striker from Edmonton have a new track called “Give It All.” Of course, it’s available across all streaming platforms right now and is accompanied by this retro-fitting music video. It’s coming off of their forthcoming new album, ULTRAPOWER, and will be released on February 2nd. Be sure to go check out the video from this Juno award-winning band here.

Those are gonna be all of the amazing artists that I wanted to feature from our website. These have been Zach’s Picks Of The Week and I hope you enjoyed one or hopefully all of them. Be sure to go explore the rest of our website today or tomorrow, or whenever you happen to be looking for music. Canadian Beats has got you covered, with the latest interviews, exclusive promos, and concert coverage of your favourite artists. It’s just too much to count, so be sure to explore it for yourself. That’s gonna be my time for this week, so I really hope you enjoyed our time together. I will, of course, be back next time with a brand new list of amazing artists and bands from around Canada and the world. So please be sure to spread loving positivity around the world and I wish you, PEACE, LOVE, AND GOOD MUSIC EVERYONE!
