Calgary, AB-based rock band, Waterfront has unveiled their five-song EP, Sleep in the Cold, via Affiant Records.
The EP follows their 2021 debut EP, New Heights, where they partnered with Vancouver-based artists of The Faceplants, and their 2022 sophomore EP, Fever Dream.
Sleep in the Cold features two previous singles, “I Wanna Run” featuring Gutter King and “Keeping You Alive,” which together garnered almost 125,000 streams on Spotify.
The EP kicks off with “Ordinary Love,” a powerful and emotionally charged track that vividly captures the struggle of dealing with personal flaws and how they affect a relationship. The recurring theme of inhaling and exhaling symbolizes the journey towards inner tranquility. Through the chorus’s repetition of “It’s not your fault,” there’s a poignant acknowledgment of both the narrator’s own accountability and their plea for forgiveness and empathy from their partner.
“I Wanna Run” is a dynamic collaboration between Waterfront and Calgary’s metalcore powerhouse, Gutter King.
