Toronto Rock Band The Blues Emergency Release New Single, “Quicksand”

Following the success of their last single, “A Love Revolution”, Toronto-based hard rock band The Blues Emergency has just released a new song on January 12th called “Quicksand” – it’s a  powerful track that sheds light on struggles with mental health, addiction, and homelessness in our society.

““Quicksand” explores the devastating effects of heavy drug addiction, mental health, and homelessness that increasingly plagues our society, ” says the band of the new single. “The title is used as a metaphor for someone struggling with these issues as they sink deeper into an abyss of darkness with a feeling of no way out. The song is a call to action for people to come together and make a real difference in the lives of those struggling with these issues by giving them a day-in-the-life view. It’s easy to judge another person when you don’t have knowledge of their past.

“Quicksand” is also accompanied by a powerful video by Vincenzo Buggea that drives home the serious and sensitive meaning of the song.

The Blues Emergency is known for their hard, cranked-up, blues-rock, infused with the elements of stoner-rock and psychedelia. With socially conscious lyrics, hard-hitting guitar riffs, and raspy vocals – the band packs a punch, and the new single is no exception..
