The Immersive Festival of Scandinavian and Nordic Culture and Art, FIKA(S) is delighted to announce its 5th edition, taking place from March 9th to 15th, 2024. Its headquarters – baptized Maison Hygge – will be located at Monument-National in the heart of Montreal’s Quartier des Spectacles. The launch event, “Reprises Nordiques,” on March 9th, features special guest Frannie Holder (Dear Criminals, Random Recipe). FIKA(S) showcases Nordic culture and the Scandinavian way of life, offering the public a unique and immersive experience.
FIKA(S) is a festival that offers a Nordic immersive experience, celebrating art, culture, and well-being in the heart of Montreal since its creation in 2016. The significant novelty this year is FIKA(S)’s Maison Hygge, open to everyone on March 9th and 10th, 2024. Located at the Monument-National, this headquarters offers a variety of mostly free events, including children’s activities, music, gatherings, conferences, workshops, and an artisan market. Maison Hygge embodies the Danish concept of “hygge,” emphasizing community, comfort, relaxation, simplicity, charm, intention, and indulgence.
The launch event, “Reprises Nordiques,” in its third edition, will take place on March 9th, 2024 at Monument-National’s Studio Hydro-Québec. Featuring artist Frannie Holder, it promises an exceptional musical experience. The talented Holder will present unique covers of Scandinavian and Nordic artists, followed by a concert of her original compositions. This signature event has previously featured KROY in 2019 and Safia Nolin in 2022.
FIKA(S) Festival employs a tiered pricing policy for its events, offering three price levels. The audience can purchase tickets for the opening night at the following rates: support rate ($33), regular rate ($25), and solidarity rate ($18). This approach allows the festival to adapt to the public’s diverse financial realities, promoting inclusivity and diversity. It aims to ensure accessibility while ensuring its financial viability.
The complete program will be unveiled shortly, and for more information, visit the official FIKA(S) Festival website: tickets are available here.
