Grammy-Nominated Artist Noah Kahan And Grammy-Award-Winning Rock Band, Greta Van Fleet Set To Headline Second Annual Sommo Festival
Award-winning event company Whitecap Entertainment is thrilled to announce the 2024 headliners for Sommo Festival 2024 today. Coming to the picturesque coastal resort community of Cavendish, Prince Edward Island this September 13-14, the annual festival will deliver two of the world’s hottest musical acts for its second edition; Grammy-Nominated singer-songwriter Noah Kahan and Grammy-Award winning rock band Greta Van Fleet. Sure to sell out, tickets to this globally-recognized festival are on sale now.
“We knew there was a demand on the Island for a festival that celebrates all different genres of music and culinary experiences. We feel Noah and Greta are the perfect follow up to our inaugural festival. After the success of our first year, we look forward to another opportunity to highlight our coastal oasis and local businesses to festival goers this year” explained Ben Murphy, CEO, Whitecap Entertainment. “We are so thrilled to be heading into our second year with two incredible headliners coming to Atlantic Canada for the first time and cannot wait to share more news surrounding the additional musical and culinary lineups for this September.”
Hailing from Vermont, Friday night’s headliner Kahan quickly became a viral sensation for his honest truth-telling lyrics and folk-pop sound. The “Stick Season” singer has amassed over 29 million listeners on Spotify while being atop both the Billboard rock and alternative album charts. He has collaborated with some of the biggest names in the music industry (Zach Bryan, Post Malone, Hozier), named a 2024 Grammy Award nominee (Best New Artist), and made his “Saturday Night Live” debut last year performing his viral hits “Stick Season” and “Dial Drunk.”
Saturday night’s headliner will be none other than Grammy-Award-winning rock band, Greta Van Fleet.
Josh Kiszka (vocals); his twin brother, Jake Kiszka (guitar); their younger brother Sam Kiszka (bass/keyboards); and friend Danny Wagner (drums) – have cemented their status as one of the most in-demand live rock acts of their generation, having sold more than one million tickets worldwide with over 250 sold-out shows to date across five continents. Continuity has helped the GRAMMY-winning Nashville-based band become rock radio favourites to the tune of five No. 1 singles at the format, selling 3.5 million total albums and earning 2.3 billion streams. Their latest album, Starcatcher, was nominated for Best Rock Album at the 66th GRAMMY Awards and debuted at #1 on the Top Rock Albums, Top Hard Rock Albums, Top Rock/Alternative Albums Charts, and Top Ten on the Billboard 200. Greta Van Fleet has also appeared at major festivals globally including Lollapalooza, Coachella, Pinkpop, and Rock Werchter.
Taking place for the first time last July, Sommo Festival delivers a unique blend of live music with culinary and beverage experiences with over 21,000 attendees visiting the site in the inaugural year. Attendees of the 2024 festival can expect to once again be entertained by world-class musical and culinary talent across the multiple stages, including unique opportunities to meet celebrity chefs, participate in live food demonstrations, and sample some of the best local breweries and wineries in the region.
