Matt Lang shares new single, “All Night Longer” (Interview)

Award-Winning Quebec Country Music Star Matt Lang Unveils New Single “All Night Longer”

Award-winning artist Matt Lang unveiled his catchy new single “All Night Longer” on January 5th via Symphonic Distribution.

Produced by Danick Dupelle (Tebey, Tyler Joe Miller, David James), “All Night Longer” is a feel-good country song about having a special someone on your mind all day long and looking forward to spending the night with them, never wanting it to end. The song is from Matt’s highly-anticipated forthcoming album, set to be released in 2024.

The new single also reflects Matt’s attitude on tour and his true passion to perform for fans. A Matt Lang concert is a big party that could go all night long. It’s about having a good time, leaving your troubles behind, and living in the moment.

First off, care to introduce yourself to our readers?

I’m a country artist from Maniwaki, Quebec!

You have unveiled your single, “All Night Longer.” Tell us a bit about the writing process behind the track.

This song was actually written by Justin Wilson, Chris LaCorte, and Bart Butler, but I loved it as soon as I heard it and knew this would be such a fun song to play live.

“All Night Longer” is produced by Danick Dupelle. How did the collaboration come about, and what was the creative process like in the making of this single?

I’ve been working with Danick since 2018. He is also from Quebec but has been living in Nashville for about 20 years. He knows my style and he has become a very good buddy of mine. I travel a lot to Nashville to write and record but it was a bit different this time around. Danick got to come to Quebec and we recorded most of the upcoming album in a studio in St-Sauveur with my band which was a really cool experience for all of us.

“All Night Longer” is part of your upcoming album. Can you give us a sneak peek into the themes and vibes we can anticipate from this album?

We picked “All Night Longer” as the title track because it does reflect the album really well. It’s mostly festive and upbeat and great music to play live and have a good time with! I co-wrote a few of the tracks and there is one in particular that I’m really excited about that I wrote with Steven Lee Olsen, I can’t wait for you guys to hear it!

With over 10 million streams for singles like “Love Me Some You” and “My Final Pour,” how do you feel when you release a brand new single to the masses?

I haven’t released original music in a while, we were so busy with touring lately that recording plans always had to be pushed. So we were really excited to get something out and kick off the new year with good news. The music business is always changing so we never know what to expect, to be honest, but all we can do is do the music we love and hope people will love it as much as we do. We’ve been playing All Night Longer live for a couple of months now and the reception has been great so we knew we had to get this one out as soon as possible.

Recently, you announced joining Aaron Pritchett on his 2024 cross-Canada Liquored Up Tour alongside Cory Marks. How do you prepare for such extensive tours, and what are you most excited about for this upcoming tour?

This will be such a great experience for me and the longest I’ll be on the road without coming home. I think it’ll be a great opportunity to meet new people and new country fans but also for me to work on my English. I get rusty when I don’t practice so I’m really looking forward to it. I’ve played a couple of shows with Aaron and Cory in the past and it’s always a great time so I know we will have a blast.
