December 6 marked the return of Lagwagon to Edmonton, on a tour that had to have been postponed twice.

They brought along label mates Grizzly Trail and Cigar. (Cigar had to miss the Red Deer show due to being stuck in the mountains) I’m not super familiar with any of the bands or their material so I’m not going to pretend like I am. Each band brought super energetic, enthusiastic sets filled with skate-punk goodness. Catchy tunes, easy to follow and I found myself regularly nodding along with the bands, each bringing a slightly different flavour to the night.

Lagwagon though – there’s something that sets those guys apart and speaks to their longevity. Plenty of joking around, having to restart the first song because the guitar player’s rig wasn’t working, they were just an absolute ton of fun. The 600-strong crowd at Union Hall seemed to agree, with plenty of mosh pits, smiles, and nodding heads.

All around, a fantastic show put on by our friends at F7 Entertainment, and despite the freezing rain and slippery roads, the night was super enjoyable and I’m glad I was able to be in attendance.
