Jackie K & Tom Kroczynski – “When I’m Next To You” (Single Review)

Jackie K & Tom Kroczynski Shares Winter Inspired Track, “When I’m Next to You”

North Battleford, Saskatchewan-based multi-talented artist, Jackie K has teamed up with her husband, Tom Kroczynski on her latest track, the winter-inspired “When I’m Next to You.”

A Canadian winter in Northwestern Saskatchewan means the cold is inevitably going to show up. For some, it’s a joy, but not for most! Brrrr! It’s important to have that special someone in your life that you call when your car won’t start. The one you love the most!

This track is for all the people who jump the batteries, dig us out of the snow, and for those we look for in the dark at 5:00 pm. The people that we can truthfully share our feelings out winter with.

The single follows her previously released single, “I’m The Queen” and her album, She’s A Story.

Review

“When I’m Next To You” paints a charming and humorous picture of the dislike for winter’s cold while finding warmth and comfort in the presence of a loved one. The playful banter between characters adds a lighthearted touch, and the use of both male and female vocals could enhance the song’s dynamic storytelling.

The lyrics humorously convey the narrator’s dislike for winter, highlighting icy elements and discomfort. The repetition of “I hate” adds a comedic touch. Despite the aversion to winter, the central theme focuses on finding comfort and warmth in the presence of a loved one.

The recurring line “I feel warmer mostly when I’m next to you” serves as a delightful refrain that ties the song together, emphasizing the positive aspect of finding warmth in the presence of a loved one.

Overall, “When I’m Next To You” makes for a delightful inclusion in your winter or Christmas playlists, featuring engaging and enjoyable lyrics that invite singing along.
