CCMA Award-winning, platinum-selling country music sensation Robyn Ottolini releases her most personal single to date, “Sick Of Sex.”
Robyn Ottolini‘s latest single, “Sick of Sex” was co-penned by Ottolini and Emily Reid, tackles a raw and often unspoken subject matter, providing a cathartic release for both the artist and her audience.
“This song was important for me to write so that I could fully process my emotions instead of letting them fester in my mind and body,” Ottolini reveals. “Sex isn’t supposed to feel this way, but to me, it did and it does. I guess it’s one of those songs that I sort of hope no one listens to because it’s truly the most vulnerable song I’ve ever written and needed to write. At the same time, I know I’m not the only one who has gone through this, who is going through this, or who has felt this way.”
Ottolini bares her soul in a way that invites listeners to join her on a journey of healing and self-discovery. Her authenticity and fearless approach to exploring intimate subjects through her music and lyrics have set her apart in her genre, earning her a devoted and growing fanbase.
“I don’t want to let another person I might learn to like into my bed,
Another chore I have to check to lose my self-respect feels so damn complex,
Honestly, it just feels like currency to keep someone somewhat interested in me,
If I hear another you’re just not doing it right,
I might not make love for the rest of my life,
I promise you’re no different than the rest,
And I’m sick of sex”
“Sick Of Sex” is from Ottolini’s forthcoming EP, Growing Up To Do, which has been rescheduled for release on January 19, 2024, via Empire.
