Canadian Thrashers HYPERIA Is Here To Start The Party With “Automatic Thrash Machine”
Canada’s thrash maniacs Hyperia have been shredding across stages since their conception in 2018 and have released three albums to wild global reception. Their latest work The Serpent’s Cycle is coming out this November and will be a continuation of the aggressive riffs, melodic vocals, and all-around party nature that the band has come to be known for. The next single “Automatic Thrash Machine” embodies that energy and draws listeners in with its endorphin rush of thrash technicality.
The band describes the single:
“A tongue-in-cheek nod to our favourite party thrash songs, this track is our homage to partying and having a good time with your friends. It’s accompanied by a full-out kegger of a music video that shows the fun side of Hyperia. It’s one of the more straightforward thrash songs on the album but still has lots of intricate parts from all members.”
First off, care to introduce yourself to our readers?
I’m Jon Power, bassist of Hyperia.
Tell us a bit about your most recent release.
We’re gearing up to unleash our new LP ‘The Serpent’s Cycle’. An ambitious journey with plenty of influences. It’s got your speedy thrash, catchy hooks, crushing heaviness, and technical prowess abound! We think this is a very well-rounded musical offering and we’re all super proud of how it’s turned out. We can’t wait to bring this one to the stage!
Do you have any upcoming shows you’d like to tell us about?
We’ll be headlining the Underground Wasteland festival in Penticton, BC on October 28th. After that, we’ll be back in Vancouver to open a stacked lineup at the Red Room on Halloween night with Canadian thrash legends Exciter.
We’ll also be planning a ‘The Serpent’s Cycle’ album release show here in Vancouver for later this year, of which we’ll have more details to share soon.
If given the chance, which Canadian artist would you love to work with in the future?
Unleash The Archers! There are so many incredible Canadian bands and artists that come to mind, particularly right here in BC. But I’ve got to go with UTA. Such a hard-working band, total pros, and lovely people as well! I think our sounds would blend very nicely on a tour package.
What’s your goal for 2024?
2024 for us is all about getting out to uncharted territory and playing for as many people in as many places as we can. See you out there!
