Tonight, French rappers Gims and Dadju ruled Montreal’s Bell Center!
Following an opening set by DJ Folyne, the duo arrived onstage around 9pm. The two french-congolese brothers, who typically operate as independent artists, surprised and delighted fans when they announced this very special co-headlining tour! During those types of tours, we normally see one artist performing after the other, but in this case, the Bell Center witnessed one master set, with both singers alternating each others’ tracks!
The production pulled all the stops, and the packed audience was delighted to sing along to massive hits Mon Soleil, Bella, Sexion D’Assaut (Gims’ original band) throwback Wati By Night, and a showstopping finale to Sapés Comme Jamais! Gims and Dadju were also accompanied by a full band, a refreshing sight from the usual laptop dj+rapper combo!
After touring the festivals in France, Austria and Belgium, Montreal was the last date on the calendar, and what a treat to witness the tour closing here!
