Care to introduce yourself to our readers?
Chelsea’s Tail is a 4-piece rock band from Vancouver, BC. Since 2010, we have been blending vocal harmonies with hard rock, punk, and metal genres to create a sound we call our own.
Our first single “Towers” was released in 2015, followed by “Allons-y” soon after.
Tell us a bit about your most recent release.
In July of this year (2023), we released a 12-song digital album “XII” on all streaming platforms. We are very proud to finally have a full album out, with 4 songs coming from our catalog of songs spanning 13 years, and a slew of new songs leaning towards the heavy and melodic.
Our first single from the album, “I Am Anger”, talks about one’s overwhelming need to change, and to have the whole world know it.
Where do you tend to pull inspiration from when writing?
Our lead writer/composer Robby likes to bring out the aggressive side of ideals and life experiences. Be it love, grief, pride, or even fear, these themes provide the musical direction for how uplifting or dark the song feels.
The album “XII” truly embodies this when listening straight through from songs 1 to 12 – a rollercoaster of passion and emotion.
Do you have any upcoming shows you’d like to tell us about?
We have a show on January 26th at The Roxy with Heathanz Sinz. We know that seems like quite a while from now, but we do enjoy the time to focus on producing a whole new and entertaining set for each show, so we are looking forward to people coming down to catch us live!
What’s your goal for 2023?
We want to keep the ball rolling compositionally, as we feel that we have only scratched the surface of the sound we have honed for more than a decade. For 2023, we hope for even more solid, anthemic songs to come through the writing process. We hope the readers and listeners stay tuned for more great things from us very soon!
