Emerging Calgary Country Music Artist Jason Andrew Griffith Unveils New Single “Soil and Ashes”
Calgary country music artist Jason Andrew Griffith is excited to announce his new single “Soil and Ashes” is out now.
Produced by Mark Troyer at Evergreen Sound and written by Jason, it features a lineup of Juno, CCMA, and YYCMA award-winning musicians including Matty McKay, Spencer Cheyne, Justin Kudding, and Mitch Jay. The song uses a strong melody, dynamic soundscape, and vivid wildfire imagery to deliver a heartfelt story about the aftermath of a bad relationship, and a reminder that it can be fertile ground to grow something even better. And with references to Alberta geography and locales, Jason has also put a spotlight on his own prairie roots.
“I couldn’t be prouder of this song and how it turned out. Working with Mark Troyer and these amazing musicians was a real blessing, and the sound we achieved fits perfectly with where I want my sound to go, walking the line between country, Americana, and roots rock. I also love singing about Alberta and songs inspired by the Rocky Mountains” said Jason Andrew Griffith.
Raised in small-town Alberta and currently based in Calgary, Jason is known for playing his own brand of storyteller country music shaped by folk, blues, and rock influences from the 20th century. His style can move from playful and upbeat to sad or nostalgic to simple toe-tapping fun. His songs cover a wide range of topics but the focus always comes back to family, connection, and the struggles of finding your way in the world.
