Monstercat Compound’s 6th Year Takes Place August 26 Featuring Crankdat
Now in its sixth year, Monstercat Compound is set to captivate music lovers and electronic music enthusiasts on Saturday, August 26. For the first time in its history, Monstercat Compound will be an exclusive 19+ event, elevating the atmosphere and offering an even more immersive environment, and doubling its site map compared to last year which will include even more room for attendees, artists, and activities.
In just a few years, the multi-faceted Ohio-based artist Crankdat has amassed nearly a quarter of a billion total streams, toured 4 continents, and has played hundreds of shows — more than a dozen of which previously held residency in Las Vegas at Hakkasan.
His originals and remixes dominate the festival circuit with heavy rinsing from Marshmello, DJ Snake, The Chainsmokers, and many more. Beyond producing and DJing, though, Smith is a true creative. From designing his own artwork to animating and executing his own live show visuals, the Crankdat experience is coming from none other than the creator himself. He is the physical embodiment of what he preaches, having an independent mindset and self-starter mentality that encourages hard work, dedication, and perseverance.
Crankdat is set to play Monstercat Compound in Vancouver on August 26.

First off – care to introduce yourself to our readers?
What’s up! My name is Crankdat and I am a 26-year-old bass music producer from Ohio.
Monstercat compound takes place on August 26, and you are part of this solid lineup. What most excites you about being a part of this event?
I think simply getting to play here is pretty exciting. Being in great company among the other artists is also very exciting. I don’t think I’ve played too many block parties either so this will be a first for me in that sense.
Monstercat has built up a roster of world-renowned artists over the last decade, of the other artists on the Compound lineup, who are you most excited to check out?
I’m pretty excited for everyone, but I’m really excited to see my buddy Blanke play. He makes some of my favorite electronic music and I have yet to get to watch a set of his. I’m pretty stoked about that.
For someone who has yet to see you perform live, describe your performance in 5 words or less.
Energetic, aggressive, fun, sweaty, loud!!!
What’s up next for you in 2023?
Continuing my Summer/Fall tour! Have almost 50 stops in total and I’m excited to hit all of my favorite cities and meet with fans.
