BLANKE

Monstercat Compound’s 6th Year Takes Place August 26 Featuring BLANKE

Now in its sixth year, Monstercat Compound is set to captivate music lovers and electronic music enthusiasts on Saturday, August 26. For the first time in its history, Monstercat Compound will be an exclusive 19+ event, elevating the atmosphere and offering an even more immersive environment, and doubling its site map compared to last year which will include even more room for attendees, artists, and activities.

JP Orchison has taken the Blanke project from his native Australia to the world. Named Break Out Artist of 2019 on Subreddit R/EDM’s best of 2019, Blanke has seen continuous support from various international Dance music media including Run The Trap (who named him on their ‘Australian Artists to Watch‘ list in 2018 + #7 on their Breakout Artists of 2018), YourEDM (named #3 on their top 40 artists to watch in 2019), Billboard Dance & Dancing Astronaut.

Blanke is set to play Monstercat Compound in Vancouver on August 26.

First off, care to introduce yourself to our readers?

Hey, I’m Blanke! My real name is John-Paul (call me JP), and I’m from the land down under (Australia).

Monstercat Compound takes place on August 26, and you are part of this solid lineup. What most excites you about being a part of this event?

That I get to go back to Vancouver!! I love that city and the people so so much and it always gasses me when I know I have a show there. I’ve heard super great things about the Compound event too, it sounds WILD, so I’m excited as hell to be part of it with a bunch of my friends!

Monstercat has built up a roster of world-renowned artists over the last decade, of the other artists on the Compound lineup, who are you most excited to check out?

Crankdat is so much fun to hang with and watch live so I’m hyped to see my boy. But the girls Nostalgix and Godlands (a fellow Australian) are gonna be so fun to see throw down. I haven’t seen Godlands in YEARS, probably before our collab (Hellraiser) so I’m really pumped we are in the same place let alone the same lineup 🙂

For someone who has yet to see you perform live, describe your performance in 5 words or less.

Genre-defying rollercoaster of emotions.

What’s up next for you in 2023?

I will have just been to Europe for the second time in a month which was full of fun sessions with other exciting artists and playing big festivals like Rampage and Lollapalooza in Paris, but the rest of 2023 is looking like SUPER fun festivals like Hard Summer,  EZoo and Lollapalooza Chicago, as well as some headline spots. I’m currently lining up a LOT of music right now that’ll be coming out over the course of the year, so there will be lots in the bank and lots on the way out. Plenty of goods on the way <3
