OSHEAGA 2023
Day 1: August 4th, 2023
with Rüfus du Sol, JPEGMAFIA, Charlotte Cardin, The Flaming Lips, Rina Sawayana, Wallows, bbno$, Soccer Mommy, Holly Humberstone and Dope Lemon
Yesterday was that time of the year, when Montrealers make the trip to Parc Jean Drapeau for OSHEAGA! We started our day with Dope Lemon, Holly Humberstone and Soccer Mommy over at the main stages.
We then did the trek to the green stage to catch Vancouver’s very own bbno$, who put on a ridiculously fun and energetic set!
Back at the main stage, Wallows (led by 13 Reasons Why actor Dylan Minnette) caught the heart of the fans who showed up in great numbers to sing along. Up next, Japanese-British sensation Rina Sawayama commanded the stage, with an arena-worthy performance including dancers and multiple outfit changes in just under an hour!
As the sun started setting down, The Flaming Lips pulled all the stops with a colourful show, and hometown sweetheart Charlotte Cardin got a last-minute spot on the lineup after Aya Nakamura had to cancel at the last minute due to illness.
After another detour by the Valley stage to catch the highly-energetic JPEGMAFIA, we went back to the main stage to catch Australian dance music group Rüfüs Du Sol close out the evening. People gathered in masses as they danced the night away, in front of a main stage turned into a cathedral of lights!
Day 1 of OSHEAGA was an absolute blast, and it’s only getting better from here with Billie Eilish headlining tonight, and Kendrick Lamar on Sunday! A handful of tickets are still available, visit OSHEAGA’s website for more info.
