Danish rockers Volbeat made a stop in Edmonton, Alberta on July 19 for their Servant of the Road world tour with Halestorm at Rogers Place.
Halestorm kicked off the show with one of their most known hits “I Miss the Misery” and set the tone for a night of rock and roll. Lizzy Hale belted out their hits from over the years like ‘Freak Like Me’ and ‘Love Bites’ mixed with their newer tracks like “Back from the Dead” and “The Steeple.” A stellar and interactive show Hale owned the crowd and the stage for a co-headlined show.
Volbeat then opened their set with their smash hit “The Devils Bleeding Crown” and had the crowd howling, a mix of old and new tracks from classics like “Lola Montez” and “Still Counting” to tracks from the newest album Servant of the Road like “Die to Live” and “Wait a Minute My Girl” were played. Lead singer Micheal Poulsen had the crowd in the palm of his hands all night. Volbeat has become very well known all throughout the globe for their one-of-a-kind rock tracks and top-notch live shows.
Both Halestorm and Volbeat had an awaited return to Canada and it was definitely worth the wait. What a lineup and way to help make it through the crunch week, can’t go wrong with a midweek rock show.
