Nestled along the sandy beaches of Lake Huron, it was the perfect summer weekend to spend at Sarnia’s Canatara Park, as Revelree Music Festival took over and delighted locals and beachgoers alike with a stellar lineup of both local favourites and Canadian superstars.

Kicking off the weekend Friday night were Sarnia’s own Little White Lies, who brought a selection of decidedly acoustic covers of hip-hop favourites, and the Gypsy Flats, who are celebrating the release of their self-titled debut EP. Kitchener-Waterloo’s Living Room for Small then had the crowd dancing to their seamless blend of pop-rock and indie sensibilities; while rising superstar, Aysanabee, brought his powerful originals and soulful voice to wow the Sarnia crowd.

Closing out the night with the biggest cheers of the night were brought by the ever-natural and always welcome pairing of icons, Lights, and Arkells, who combined forces to leave the crowd dancing into the weekend.

The party continued Saturday with a beautiful summer night of pure rock and roll. Kettle & Stony Point’s own, Brothers Wilde, kicked off the evening with their own blend of alt-country, while Kitchener’s Courtney Wolfe had the audience grooving to her own acoustic-rooted rock, and Sarnia’s very own, Born Riot, got the crowd pumped with their energetic rock and the Juno Award-winning, JJ Wilde, showed the audience what it means to be a force for rock.

Closing the night and the festival were back-to-back powerhouse performances; starting with the legendary, Tom Cochran, who made sure the audience was singing along with his setlist of Canadian favourites, and concluding with a warm welcome to rock superstars, The Glorious Sons, who had the Canatara Park crowd wrapped around their finger with a blistering set of fan favourites.

Revelree’s brilliant setting alongside their ability to bring fan favourites from across the music spectrum certainly made Sarnia the place to be this weekend!
