First off, care to introduce yourself to our readers?

Ya, I grew up in Southern Alberta on a farm outside the little town of Standard. I come from a music-loving family who never played any instruments, but when I picked up the guitar I couldn’t put it down. I’ve been playing professionally for about 12 years now and a lot longer than that around campfires and kitchen parties. We’ve put out 6 albums or EPs now and played just about every honky tonk in Canada and I’m very excited to lean into that kind of sound a lot more with this next record and find stuff that just has that fun energy to play live because that’s my favourite part of the whole business!!

You have unveiled your single, “Neon Time.” Care to tell us about the recording process behind the release?

Ya, it’s always so helpful to have a really clear vision behind what we want and for this right from the writing through the recording and even promotion we knew exactly what we wanted. It was produced by Mike Pyle and Bobby Wills who both have a ton of experience and have a great ear for pulling some of those traditional country music pieces into a modern sound giving us something I think we can be really proud of!

You worked with many familiar names on the release including Bobby Wills. How was the experience working with these greats?

Bobby has been such an incredible champion for us the last year and has always been so great with advice and opinions around the business but working with him in a more official capacity has been huge in upping our game. He introduced me to the 2 co-writers, Jim Collins and Wade Kirby, who are also legends and they absolutely nailed the feel and content in the writing room. With their songwriting expertise and my experience in the kind of bars we are singing about in this new song I think we landed on something very special

What’s your favourite thing about being a musician in Alberta?

Definitely the people. Country Music Alberta has always been a great support system, and I feel everyone genuinely wants to help each other out. There are also a lot of places to play and people really love country music here or at least the kind of country music we like to sing!

You are set to play various festivals this summer including Calgary Stampede, Big Valley Jamboree, and more. For someone who has yet to see you live, describe your performance in 5 words or less.

        Rowdy and turned way up!

What’s up next for you in the fall of 2023?

We are going to continue writing and recording for this next album and we’ll be looking to release more singles and play as much as possible! We’ve had some great opportunities across the country over the summer and we hope that leads to some more touring!
