Festival d’été de Québec
Day 2: July 7th, 2023
with Imagine Dragons, TALK and Grandson
After a crazy opening night with Weezer and Billy Talent, Festival d’été de Québec is still going strong! The torrential downpour earlier today luckily stopped, leaving room for clear skies as American-Canadian singer Grandson took to the main stage! His alt-rock set was high in energy as he jumped around the stage, getting everyone in the mood for a kick-ass evening!
Up next, Ottawa’s TALK performed. It had only been a few weeks since we last saw them opening for Milky Chance and Young The Giant in Laval, QC, but it was just as effective as he charmed the audience with his deep voice.
Finally, Nevada pop-rockers Imagine Dragons arrived onstage for their headlining set to a frenzied crowd! This Festival d’été de Québec set was so long-awaited, as it got cut short in 2019 after a couple songs due to a storm, and canceled in 2020 due to COVID. The shows was full of colours and energy, with frontman Dan Reynolds absolutely commanding the stage. For this very special performance (1 of only 3 in North America this summer), all the hits were there: Believer, It’s Time, Thunder, Demons, On Top of the World and Radioactive. The show was a flaming success for the band’s long-awaited return, setting the bar for Festival d’été de Québec performances even higher, and it’s only Day 2!
