The Montreal Jazz Festival is still going, and the heat won’t prevent Montrealers from having a good time!
We started our evening at Salle Wilfrid-Pelletier with Canadian jazz pianist and singer Diana Krall. Dressed in a sparkly dress, the blonde commanded the minimalist yet cozy stage, accompanied by her talented jazz musicians. The set felt like an intimate performance, transforming the theater into a tiny NYC jazz club.
Up next, we headed to the main stage for LA bass prodigy Thundercat. The two-time Grammy award-winning musician had no trouble filling up the Quartiers des Spectacles, as the crowd vibed to his sometimes trippy, but always funky set! Thundercat’s set showed the beauty of the Montreal Jazz Festival, an always eclectic mix of genres and artists, which somehow always hits the mark and makes for wonderful evenings!
