Care to introduce yourself to our readers?

Hi folks, my name is Paul Randy Mingo. I live in a small village on the northern shore of Nova Scotia. You can usually find me at home here in the studio either writing or recording and when I’m not doing that I’m running our 5 dogs and working in the greenhouses growing our years’ veggies.

I love fishing in the bay and running the jeeps in the backwoods here. If you wanna know all the details just listen to my songs as they tell my life story and I shoot all my videos here in Seal Brook so you can see the beauty I call home.

Tell us a bit about your most recent release.

“Rockin’ it Crazy” is a fun tune I wrote while driving home one day and it tells the story of how myself and my wife love to have fun and act like teenagers. I never liked normal. I like excitement and acting wild and crazy and busy all the time. I do all my own videos and “Rockin’ It Crazy” was a blast to do as I added new toys in the studios that allowed for more visual fun.

Where do you tend to pull inspiration from when writing?

Writing songs has always been a mystery for me as when it hits, they come fast and furious. Once an idea pops in my head, the lyrics are written in usually under ten minutes, Then I tweak a word here or there to finish but the ideas almost always come from my life experiences.

Do you have any upcoming shows you’d like to tell us about?

With the summer coming fast it is festival season so I will be out playing at campgrounds, fairs, and exhibitions and I always do an annual concert in Victoria Park in Truro.  If I have time to squeeze it in this year, I’m also considering another free concert on the beach here at home, set on the Bay of Fundy which is 2 minutes from my house and a fantastic setting for an outside show.

What’s your goal for 2023?

I currently have 3 full-length albums and 2 EPs. During 2023 I will be working on finishing the next album which will include “Rockin’ It Crazy.” I have 9 songs finished and the last one is in production as we speak so the goal is to finish up and get it out to the masses while promoting it at the shows this year.
