Wakefield, QC-based alt-rockers, REBELLE is set to play Ottawa’s Dragon Boat Festival on June 22 at 8:00 pm.

First off, care to introduce yourself to our readers?

Hello world, this is David From Rebelle. We are an alt-rock quartet from Wakefield Quebec.

Rebelle consists of Brother/sister David Taggart (Me), Rylee Taggart, and 2 long-time pals Ryan Wiles and Joey Kane.

Tell us a bit about your latest release.

We’ve been releasing tracks throughout the year from our EP “Kicks”. We actually recorded most of these way back in Pandemic times in Toronto, with Anton Delost. Basically quarantined in the studio and a very small air bnb basement apartment.

Our latest single “Chains” is about breaking free of any toxic relationship, and standing up for yourself.

You will be playing at Tim Horton’s Ottawa Dragon Boat Festival. Is this your first time performing at this festival?

This is our 3rd time playing this festival, the Ottawa Dragon Boat team has been very kind to us during the last few years. We got to be a part of the Ottawa Ice Dragon Boat Fest this winter. Excited to be back playing in the sun for you all.

For someone who has yet to see you perform live, describe your performance in 3 words.

Upbeat, Raw, Energetic.

With a full-Canadian lineup, who are you looking forward to checking out during the festival?

I’m personally excited to catch up with Dear Rouge, We’ve known those lovely people for a long time, will be nice to be in the same place and share the stage with them. I have done some writing with Drew in the past.
