Toronto’s Quinton Taylor Shares New Single & Video for “In My Feelings”
Toronto-based singer-songwriter Quinton Taylor has released his debut single “In My Feelings”, produced by Canadian collaborator, writer, and producer Colin Munroe (Kendrick Lamar, Statik Selektah, Brassmunk, Busta Rhymes). The seductive R&B banger showcases Taylor’s irresistibly catchy vocals over crystal clear production filled with buttery synth chords, razor-sharp high-hats, and satisfying 808s. “In My Feelings” will appear on Taylor’s forthcoming debut EP due out in Summer 2023.
Speaking about the new track, Taylor reveals,
“I poured my heart into my debut single. It’s a song that speaks to the power of raw emotion and the intense feelings that can come with falling for someone. I wanted to create a track that would capture the essence of that infatuation and the perfection that I saw in that special person. But at the same time, there were also moments of doubt and fear that crept in, and I found myself questioning the validity of my own relationship. As I sing in the lyrics, ‘Am I in my feelings or am I just faded’, I’m expressing that struggle to differentiate between feelings of love and the fear of being alone. It’s a question that I think a lot of people my age can relate to. But in the end, I wear my heart on my sleeve and let my lyrics speak for themselves. ‘In My Feelings’ is an honest interpretation of how I was feeling in the moment, and I hope that it can connect with people on a personal level.”
“In My Feelings” arrives with an official music video directed by Toronto-based director and photographer Nathan Lau. Filmed in Toronto with bar scenes taken at Track & Field bar, the flirtatious video perfectly distills the song’s lyrical motifs.
“I really feel like we captured the essence of desire in the music video,” shares Taylor. “The dreamy visuals showcase the deep longing for love, as I share intimate moments with the co-star. The video captures the euphoria of new love as we run through the streets, snap pictures together, and dance the night away. However, the dreamlike sequence ends when I’m jolted back to reality, emphasizing the fleeting nature of romantic fantasy.”
Having spent the last year in the studio alongside Munroe recording and fine-tuning his craft, Taylor is set to release his debut EP this summer. Additional details about the release will be announced in the coming months.

Care to introduce yourself to our readers?
I’m Quinton Taylor. I’m a 23-year-old R&B artist from Toronto.
Tell us a bit about your most recent release.
“In My Feelings” is my debut single. This song holds a special place in my heart because it dives deep into the complexities of emotions and the rollercoaster ride of falling in love. I aimed to capture the essence of the intense infatuation and the beauty you see in someone when you first fall for them. The producer, Colin Munroe, sent me some beats, and as soon as I heard the one that became “In My Feelings,” I grabbed my phone and started recording melodies on the voice memos app. The lyrics just flowed out of me and it all came together very quickly.
Where do you tend to pull inspiration from when writing?
The songwriting process for me is all about tapping into my own experiences and emotions and finding a way to convey that in the most honest way possible. I get inspired by everything in life but that’s because I try to look at things that way. I like writing about personal experiences and always gravitate toward ideas that evoke the strongest feeling.
Do you have any upcoming shows you’d like to tell us about?
Right now I’m really excited & focused on putting out these songs I’ve been holding onto for a while now. However, I’m really excited to let you know that there is a lot of new music on the way! I can’t wait for you to hear what’s coming next.
What’s your goal for 2023?
In 2023, my goal is to grow as an artist. I’ve spent a lot of time crafting this sound and I’m ready to share it with the world. There was a long time when I didn’t feel ready so it feels really good to be in that position now. I also want to really push myself creatively. I feel like there is so much more I want to do sonically speaking and this is just the beginning, so I am very excited to see where that takes me.
