Deathcore Band Beguiler unleash new single “Unrepentant”

Since their inception, Toronto Deathcore group Beguiler has released a steady string of high-quality singles and EPs. Their efforts have resulted in their latest, stellar new single, “Unrepentant.” This is the first single of their upcoming debut full-length album, scheduled to be released sometime in the fall.

The lyrical content of “Unrepentant” delves into the atrocities of the Canadian residential schools that have negatively affected the Indigenous population for generations to come. The band hopes this song will inspire Canadians to speak out against the Canadian government’s treatment towards the Indigenous people and spark conversation within a music scene that often ignores the current state of affairs.

Vocalist of Beguiler, Jacob Coolege, has this to add,

“I felt compelled to write a lyrical composition that digs at the hypocrisy of religious figures holding political power, whilst our government takes minimal accountability in order to save face.” While Guitarist Scott Thoms added, “It just feels like not enough people are willing to talk about these issues. I really hope that this track can spark these conversations and that people are willing to stop turning a blind eye.”

With the release of this latest single, Beguiler has released a new long sleeve shirt with proceeds being donated to the NCTR (National Centre for Truth & Reconciliation). This shirt can be purchased at http://beguiler.bigcartel.com/ or you donate directly to the NCTR at https://bit.ly/NCTRdonationform

The music of “Unrepentant” is fast, intense, and feels larger than life. The structure of the song flows with ease and a sense of grace. The layers of synth and orchestra set the tone for a dark, moody, and unrelenting listening experience. Without a doubt, this is Beguiler’s strongest musical effort, as well as their best produced. The song is wickedly entertaining from start to finish. This song solidifies their position as the kings of the Toronto Deathcore scene.
