Feist

Canadian singer/songwriter and eleven-time Juno award winner Feist performed in Toronto on May 18th, 2023 at the History concert venue. Feist is currently touring for her latest album titled Multitudes which was just released last month on April 14th.
The artist would put a different spin on the concert experience by playing a 1-hour acoustic set on a smaller stage in the middle of the crowd with the main stage blocked by a giant canvas. While the singer played there was a crew member that walked around the venue with a camera that had its image projected on the giant canvas at the main stage. It produced a clever camera trick as when the video camera was pointed back at the screen in which the output was being played it would create the “double mirror” effect which of course ties back to the name of the new album Multitudes.
The solo performance portion of the show would conclude when Feist would read some spoken word poetry while she walked back towards the main stage until eventually reading the front of the canvas when a huge light would explode into a multitude of rays.
Out of nowhere, the giant canvas sheet dropped to the ground revealing her full band in waiting which would be the kick off the full band portion of the show. Feist would go on the play a lot of the songs that the singer is known for such as “My Moon My Man” and “How Come You Never Go There” as well as a lot of the tracks off the new Multitudes album.
Feist would conclude her performance with a two-song encore which wrapped the show. In conclusion, Feist gets a high grade for the whole presentation of this show which proved to be a very unique and innovative way to play live music. With a high level of production and creativity, it’s easy to see why this artist has racked up nominations and awards from some of the top music academies from across the world.
