On Thursday, American musician Yves Tumor and their band brought their To Spite Or Not To Spite tour to the Vogue Theatre in Vancouver, BC. Tumor was supported by two opening acts: Evanora:Unlimited who we sadly missed, and three-piece Pretty Sick who prepared the young crowd for the rest of the night.
Around 9:30 pm, fog filled the industrial-looking stage, and Tumor and his band arrived under the screams of the audience. They kicked things off with “God Is A Circle,” the lead track from their latest album Praise a Lord Who Chews but Which Does Not Consume; (Or Simply, Hot Between Worlds), followed by “Echolalia” and “In Spite of War.” Throughout the evening, Tumor delivered a mesmerizing performance, a true rock show despite Tumor’s music being impossible to solely label into one music genre. His presence and alchemy with his band, especially incredible guitarist Chris Greatti, made this live show one that you cannot miss.
