Shelley Lynch Shares New Single, “Live Everyday”
Shelley Lynch grew up in a small town in the heart of the Canadian Rockies, surrounded by music from a young age. Fifth of 6 children, raised at a Drive-In Theatre, a family business with parents always encouraging her to ‘Dream Big’. She started playing guitar with her older sisters at the young age of 10 and wrote her first song at 12.
After years of hard work and persistence, her songs finally made it to the studio. From the first Walk Through Life album, continued in the next album Dream Big, on to her next release Powerful Woman. Shelley continues to write and perform music that reflects her life experiences and the struggles and triumphs of everyday life.
She hit the ground running in 2023 with five more self-penned tunes. The latest single out the door is “Live Everyday”. There’s no stopping the momentum of the Canadian singer/songwriter! Add to that her great team The Orchard/Sony Music Nashville and CDX Records Project Manager, Joe Kelly, bringing her songs to the world.

Care to introduce yourself to our readers?
Hello, I am Shelley Lynch from Eastern BC, close to the Alberta border, in the heart of the Canadian Rockies. I was raised at a Drive Inn Theatre, built by my grandfather and my dad. I grew up with 5 siblings, 1 boy, and 5 girls. Our living room had guitars, drums, and a keyboard, where we entertained guests on Saturday nights. I learned guitar at age 10 from my older sisters who had a band and wrote my first song, Spring, at age 12. We sang in church every Sunday and learned the importance of unconditional love and integrity. My life has always been surrounded by the love of music.

The inspiration behind the song “Live Everyday”:
Friends and family are well aware if they are hanging out with me, there’s a good chance what they say or do will end up in a song! My brother Bud came up to me and said, ‘I heard a new line the other day, ‘You only live once is a lie, you only die once, you live every day’. I was like, ‘What did you just say?….lol!’. My instant thought was ‘Wow that would sound great in a song!’ I can’t just sit down and write a song, I wait for it to come to me. But the idea is planted and then…..I’m either driving down the road or at 3 am, never a convenient time, the song comes out! For ‘Live Everyday’, Drew my sound man was renovating my kitchen when I was at work. When I got home (on a Friday) I said, ‘I have to lay down for a rest before Fireball Friday’. I fell asleep but was quickly awakened by this ‘song’ in my head. I got up, even though I should have slept longer, and wrote down some chords and the base of the song. By Saturday morning, I had the song complete. As always I am unsure if a song is a ‘dud’ until I share it with my listening group…….I guess this one is a keeper! Hope you enjoy the song!
Where do you tend to pull inspiration from when writing?
I live what I write. My life experiences and the people around me are always part of the inspiration in writing. Sometimes it can also be what is happening in the world. I have never been able to really explain how I write, the songs just come to me, like someone else writing it. I believe it is a God-given gift and I am very thankful.
Do you have any upcoming shows you’d like to tell us about?
I am currently scheduling a radio tour in late summer, with added performances.
What’s your goal for 2023?
My goal for 2023 is to transition from working a full-time job as an Office Manager into my true self, singer/songwriter/entertainer.
