On May 11, 2023, Disturbed played at Rogers Place in Edmonton, AB. The concert was nothing short of phenomenal, with the band delivering a powerful and energetic performance that left the crowd on their feet and screaming for more.
From the moment they took the stage, Disturbed commanded the attention of everyone in the audience with their intense sound and captivating stage presence. Frontman David Draiman’s vocals were as impressive as could be, and he kept the crowd engaged throughout the entire show with his signature growls and soaring melodies.
The band played a mix of their classic hits and new material, including tracks from their latest album, “Divisive.” Opening the show was “Hey You”, an energetic number that immediately had to crowd whipped into a frenzy. The chemistry between the band members was evident, and their cohesion as a group only added to the overall energy.
One of the highlights of the night was the song “The Light” which was preceded by a speech from Draiman about his own struggles, thoughts of suicide, and the revelation that a few short months ago he almost joined many of his fallen comrades such as Chester Bennington, Scott Weiland, and Chris Cornell. He brought to the stage a family he had met during the meet and greet, who had lost their father/husband to suicide 5 years ago, and talked about how Disturbed’s music helped them through their darkest moments. The crowd was transfixed during this performance, and the moment was truly unforgettable.
Overall, Disturbed put on an incredible show that will be remembered for years to come. Coming from someone who isn’t a huge fan, let me tell you – they’re worth every dime. From the musicianship to the stage presence to the crowd interaction, everything about the performance was top-notch. If you ever have the chance to see Disturbed live, don’t hesitate – it’s an experience you won’t forget.
