Five

Let’s begin our list with Waterloo-based emerging country singer Nick Bordman, whose jumping right in and making a splash in the country music scene with his down-south blues and country-rock vibes. His sound is captivating to all who listen and is shown in his latest single, “Tread Lightly.” It is available across all streaming platforms now, and Bordman’s been working on his debut EP, which hopefully is coming out this year. You can listen to the new single “Tread Lightly” in our article, where we interviewed Nick Boardman. You can find the link to that new single and interview here

Four

Hot on the heels of his first-ever JUNO Award nomination (Underground Dance Single of the Year). The Toronto DJ and producer, Bensley, is here and has unleashed his latest single, “All I Wanted.” The song features his labelmate at Monstercat Skyelle and effortlessly bounces between entertaining melodic moments and Bensley’s signature energetic drum and bass styles. Three

Now we’re going into the top three, and it brings us to the Sudbury-based hard rock band Fortunate Losers. They have revealed their latest single, “Divine,” across all streaming platforms, and it was recorded at Union Sound in Toronto by renowned producer Steve Molella. Steve has worked with bands and artists like Finger 11, Stuck on Planet Earth, and Phantom Atlantic, to name a few. The result is a track that perfectly captures the raw energy and intensity of the band’s live shows. However, I think you should go and listen to this new single, “Divine,” and read our review here

Two

Making it into this week’s top two will be an Oshawa-based rap artist, Mallokay. In February, he revealed the album The Graduated Dropout, which has already gained over 1.8 million streams. It was recorded and released from Mallokay’s home studio, which he made available to local youth and the foster community. He has connected with many artists on this record, including the legendary Snoop Dogg. So be sure to go and listen to the whole album in our article, where we interviewed Mallokay here

It’s time for my final recommendation of the week coming from our website of the newest music. That is going to include Alberta-based musician Rebecca Lappa this week.
