Award-winning singer-songwriter Madeline Merlo has released her emotional new single “Same Car”
Madeline Merlo is not only the winner of NBC’s reality competition TV series Songland, but she’s also the country music star that has just released her super-charged anthem, “Same Car.” This single was co-written by Merlo with prolific Number One songwriters Sara Haze, Jason Saenz, Josh Osborne, and producer Zach Crowell (the award-winning songwriter of Lady A’s Number One hit “Champagne Night”).
“Same Car” is about thinking back to a painful memory and remembering what it was and dialing in on the sorrow and angst felt post-breakup. What makes this single more appealing is Merlo’s dynamic, powerhouse vocals.
Merlo shares,
“‘Same Car’ is a song that I have been excited to release since the day I wrote it. It’s a vulnerable and raw story about getting your heart broken in the same place you fell in love. As a young person – a car is often the setting for the range of emotions you experience as you go through a relationship with someone. This song explores that and the production gives it a cinematic backdrop that, I hope, will take the audience on that journey with me.”
“Same Car” debuted on March 24 with an incredible response in Canada. It was featured on the Amazon Music Billboard in Toronto’s Y&D Square for their ‘Just North of Nashville’ playlist; it also landed key spots on Apple Music (New Music Daily, Country Risers), Spotify (New Music Friday Canada and the US), and YouTube Music.
