Paradise, NL-based 15-year-old singer-songwriter Summer Bennett has released the third of three singles that she had been working on prior to meeting Greg Wells and joining the Scilly Cove Records team. This single, “Sirens,” is produced by St. John’s based Music Producer Matt Dines and is yet another example of the blossoming talent that is Summer Bennett.

The single follows Summer’s previous releases, “Carsick” and “Rust.”

Summer has been singing and writing music her entire life, and she is now emerging as one of Newfoundland’s most formidable talents.

In 2019, Summer was a Vocal Finalist at CMTC Toronto. She was named a 2021 Top 10 Indigenous Emerging Artists of Canada two years later. That same year, Summer won the 2021 Newfound Talent Contest from MusicNL, where she was able to record her debut single, “Carsick.” This past year “Carsick” won the 2022 Arts and Letters Award and was recently listed as one of the top 125 songs in the 2022 CBC Toyota Searchlight competition. Further adding to this already impressive resume, Summer was selected as one of 18 Canadians to attend HoneyJam 2022 in Toronto, a concert and celebration focusing on emerging Canadian Female artists.

With unique styling and instantly identifiable vocals, Summer is bursting into a genre few Newfoundlanders before her have ventured. Scilly Cove Records proprietor, Greg Wells, having worked with some of the world’s top pop artists, has presented Summer with what she describes as “the opportunity of a lifetime.”

You will most definitely want to follow along as things are about to get very exciting with Summer beginning work on her debut album with two-time Grammy Award Winning Record Producer Greg Wells.
