2020 International Blues Challenge Winner (representing the Ottawa Blues Society), HOROJO Trio is a soul rockin’ rhythm & blues act that features drummer Jamie Holmes, singer/keyboardist Jeff Rogers, and guitarist/singer JW-Jones, who was named the year’s Best Guitarist at the IBC.

HOROJO Trio is set to play at Ottawa’s Ice Dragon Boat Festival on February 20 at The Rainbow Bistro at 8:00 pm.

Listen to their single, “Man Of Steel,” below and learn more about HOROJO Trio via our festival edition mini-interview.

Tell us a bit about your newest release.

We released our debut album, Set The Record (Stony Plain Records), last spring. Since winning the International Blues Challenge in Memphis over 200+ acts in 2020, we were thrilled to finally get our original music out after the worst of the pandemic.

You’ll be playing at Ottawa’s Ice Dragon Boat Festival on Monday. Is this your first time performing at the festival?

This is our first time being involved, and we are excited to perform at our favourite local venue – the Rainbow Bistro!

What can people expect from your live performance?

We’ll be playing almost our entire debut album and have some choice covers to throw into the mix as well. We are Jeff Rogers singing, playing keys and bass, Jamie Holmes on drums, and JW-Jones on guitar and vocals, and look forward to heating the place up on a cold Ottawa night!

Do you have any upcoming shows or festivals you’d like to tell us about?

Yes! We’ll be at a popular summer music festival… but we aren’t permitted to announce it just yet!
