Last night, Australian singer-songwriter Vance Joy kicked off two sold-out shows at MTelus in Montreal!
Fellow Aussie Jack Botts opened the evening. On stage with his friend Ben, the duo made the crowd groove to their sweet acoustic pop.
Shortly after 9pm, Vance Joy and his band appeared on stage to a thunder of applause. This was a long-awaited return, as the singer hadn’t graced Montreal with his presence since his Bell Center show in 2018! With draping hanging from the ceiling and beautiful colors all around, the stage felt like a bonfire jam inside a gorgeous cave. Towering over the front rows, the 6ft4 guitarist swooned the audience with hits like Missing Piece, Mess is Mine, Fire And the Flood, Georgia. The show ended on the crowd-favorite Riptide, an unexpected cover of ABBA’s Gimme Gimme Gimme, and Lay It on Me.
