Wakefield, Quebec’s 4-piece alt-rock band, Rebelle, is set to play Ottawa’s Ice Dragon Boat Festival tomorrow (February 4) at The Rainbow in Ottawa at 9:30 pm.
Listen to “Head On Fire” below and learn more about Rebelle via our festival edition mini-interview.
First off, care to introduce yourself to the readers?
We are Rebelle. An Alt-Rock band based out of Wakefield, Quebec.
Once described as “filthy with a beat,” this four-piece draws inspiration from bands like Muse, Demob Happy, The Vines, Band of Skulls, Blur, Oasis, Black Sabbath, and Dinosaur Pile-Up.
Tell us a bit about your newest release.
“Head On Fire” is about being fed up and no longer accommodating toxicity in your life. Call that person out on their games and cut them off all together. You’ll hear raw guitar tones and angsty delivery in this song to convey the frustration.
Take a stand for yourself; it made a world of difference in my case
You’ll be playing at Ottawa’s Ice Dragon Boat Festival on February 4. Is this your first time performing at the festival?
We performed at the Summer Dragon Boat festival last summer.
This will be our first time playing Ice Dragon Boat Fest and our first time at the Rainbow since it’s been revamped. The owners of the Rainbow actually live in our neck of the woods.
What can people expect from your live performance?
A zesty hour of rock with your pals, Rebelle.
What other bands/ artist are you looking forward to checking out at the festival?
Excited to share the night with Stoby, and I am looking forward to seeing Pony Girl
Are there any upcoming shows or festivals you’d like to tell us about?
We have a new single coming out Friday, February 10th. Currently in the middle of booking a spring/summer tour.
