Ottawa, ON-based rock ‘n roll act Main Street Revival captivates audiences with a soul-stirring blend of classic 70s, indie, and Americana influences.

They’ve sold out local venues and opened for Canadian legendary acts such as I Mother Earth, Sue Foley, and David Wilcox as a result of their energetic and engaging performances. Following their self-titled debut released in November 2019, the band has since followed up with the pandemic-era “Revive Yerself” in 2021 and most recently debuted single “Old Love” with an accompanying live video. Additional singles are slotted for release in 2023.

Main Street Revival will be playing at Ottawa’s Ice Dragon Boat Festival on their opening night, February 3, at The Rainbow in Ottawa at 8:00 pm.

Listen to “Old Love” below and learn more about Main Street Revival via our festival edition mini-interview.

First off, care to introduce yourself to the readers?

Oh hey! how are ya now? I’m Doug from Main Street Revival. Our band is made up of players and songwriters that came together from the Ottawa rock scene – Doug Wallace (vocals, guitar), Alan Charlton (vocals, guitar), Erik Hertzberg (vocals, keys), Sean Tansey (drums), and Mark Sudiacal (bass).  Main Street Revival is a rock ‘n’ roll band that blends classic rock, indie, and Americana influences into our own sound.

Tell us a bit about your newest release.

We released “Old Love” in October as the first single of a series of releases we have planned for the first half of 2023. “Old Love” is a nod to that 60’s & 70’s classic rock styling and is just a fun and energetic song about keeping the flame alive in a relationship.

You’ll be playing at Ottawa’s Ice Dragon Boat Festival in February. Is this your first time performing at the festival?

Yes, this is the first time we are playing the festival, and we couldn’t be more excited to help kick it off.  We are very proud to be part of such a fantastic festival and community.

What can people expect from your live performance?

We bring positive energy to the stage and try to engage the audience so that we can all have a fun and lively party.

What band/artist are you looking forward to checking out at the festival?

All the artists at the festival are worth seeing and put on great live sets, but if we have to choose one, well, we are super stoked to be able to share the stage with the Commotions.  They are such a huge sound, and everyone in the group is a top-notch player.

Are there any upcoming shows or festivals you’d like to tell us about?

We are still putting together our schedule for 2023, but we hope to have an update soon. Look out for our next single, “Thieves in the Night,” coming out this winter.
