Amanda Kind’s newest single, “Slow Dance,” brings forth that old-school romance vibe
We live in an online age of instant gratification, and it’s becoming increasingly harder to stop ourselves from rushing into things. Amanda Kind‘s newest single, “Slow Dance,” is about taking your time falling in love and cherishing the little moments that make building a life with someone so special. It’s a song for people who crave that old-school romance.
“The pandemic taught us a lot of things – one of the big lessons for me was how important real-life connection is. No screen can replace the feeling of being with someone and getting to know them by spending time together in person,” Amanda Kind says.
Amanda’s distinctly soulful country sound drives “Slow Dance,” recalling the emotional energy of classic songs like Patsy Cline’s “Crazy” or Etta James’ “At Last,” but with a modern edge. It’s a track about human connection, meant to be blasted in the car speakers or at home while dancing in the kitchen.
“I think my music is for people who love big voices and big feelings – soaring vocals with compelling story-oriented lyrics and memorable melodies. I want people to lose themselves in the song and just belt it out with me.”
“Slow Dance” is also accompanied by a fantastic music video that touches on the cheesy, romantic comedy tropes we’ve all come to love. Amanda’s presence in the video makes it 100% genuine.
“As a plus size woman, I have always been aware that my body and my size in general are perceived as an issue in the music industry.” she says. “I am the absolute antithesis of a Barbie – and it’s that one stereotype that we keep getting told is the ideal standard for sales, but there are millions of gorgeous curvy women just like me who fall in love every day. We deserve to star in our own stories.”
