Cory Marks Releases Driving New EP I Rise

Canada’s breakout country rock artist Cory Marks released his new EP, I Rise, on November 11 via Better Noise Music.

I Rise was inspired by the time Cory spent in training to complete his pilot’s license and the determination, patience, and drive it takes to achieve such a goal. With powerful, anthemic tracks like “Burn It Up,” which has already eclipsed 100K streams, and the uplifting positivity on “Hold On,” there is something on the EP for every rock lover.

With a satisfying dose of rock and country music, one could compare Cory’s sound to blending together iconic acts like Merle Haggard and Rush, resulting in an unmistakable textured voice that harnesses your ears.

Listen to I Rise below and learn more about Cory Marks via our mini-interview.

First off, care to introduce yourself to our readers?

Hey crew, my name is Cory Marks! I’m a country artist with a rock n roll attitude.

You have unveiled your EP, I Rise. What can you tell us about the writing process behind the release?

It was a lot of fun but also challenging at the same time. I’m really excited about this EP because it shows a different and edgier side of me! It’s slightly new territory for me, and I hope it resonates with people.

You have already unveiled the single “Burn It Up,” which has amassed over 130K streams. How does it feel when a song sees early success like this?

Seeing early success like this is always amazing, and you just hope those numbers – and listeners keep climbing!

Can you tell us a bit about the process behind your new music video for “Flying”?

This was my favourite video to shoot and will be pretty hard to beat. I’ve always been passionate about flying fighter jets, so to be surrounded by them and fighter pilots in a music video is incredibly special for me.

What is your favourite thing about the music scene in North Bay, Ontario?

It’s where it all started for me, and I’ll never forget that. The people in the North Bay community and the many talented musicians that make up the scene are great!

What can we expect from you for the remainder of 2022 and into 2023?

I’m currently going on show number 5 out of 25, touring across the US with Brantley Gilbert and Five Finger Death Punch. I hope to have more new music out in early 2023…stay tuned. There’s more to come!
