Sahati shares her latest single, “For Tonight”
Toronto, ON-based rising alt-pop artist Sahati returns with infectious new single “For Tonight” via Level Music.
After a summer abundant with live performances, culminating with opening for Dua Lipa at Sunny Hill Festival, Sahati creates her own pop-infused dance track. In the first new project since her debut EP Post-Kid earlier this year, the 19-year-old Kosovar singer and multi-instrumentalist exudes feel-good spontaneity, bordering on impulsivity.
With a vocal flow similar to the likes of Maggie Rogers and Olivia Rodrigo, Sahati embodies the duality of chaos and solitude while remaining undoubtedly herself. She portrays unpredictability, FOMO, and oddness of the nightlife lifestyle in both songwriting and music video visuals directed by Nathan Lau.
Review
Opening with a unique, somewhat hollow beat, “For Tonight” possesses an electro-pop style mixed with an alt-pop vibe.
The chorus immediately caught my attention: “Right thru the red lights, Take a leap of faith tonight, I know a place you’d like, Dance past by the landmines, The chaos of your burning house, Ignite it for tonight.” It’s the type of lyric that embeds itself in your brain, playing on repeat throughout the day.
The whole track flows perfectly, with Sahati’s spellbinding vocals quickly becoming the center of attention with a poetic yet dance-driven feel.
I thoroughly enjoyed this track, and can’t wait to see what else Sahati has up her sleeve!
