The two-day celebration of Indigenous Hip Hop runs from August 26th – 27th from our host city of Winnipeg, MB, on the original lands of the Dene people’s, Dakota, Anishinaabe, Cree, Oji-Cree, Treaty 1 Territory, and on the homeland of the Metis Nation. The Awards Show weekend offers two days of networking opportunities and performances by award-winning Hip-Hop artists Artson, J25, MzShellz, Mic North, Kenny Murkz, Melody McArthur, Pooky G, Savelle Tha Native, She-Roze, Valkyrie, The Ra11n, DJ DLO and more. Plus, the event is hosted by Á’a:líya Warbus & Sly Skeeta.
The Trade Show will offer three workshops featuring music & branding industry executives from Rudegang Entertainment, MissChristie Lee & More to answer questions & provide industry education. Up & coming indigenous artists will also have the unique opportunity to connect with hip-hop music industry pioneers. Our voting judges are American rapper and legendary record producer Masta Ace, legendary Hip Hop artist Chip Fu, Indigenous Hip Hop Artist Hope, Indigenous video producer, and music artist Mamarudegyal, Indigenous Activist and music artist MissChristie Lee & Indigenous music producer and artist Mic North.
The two-day 2nd Annual International Indigenous Hip Hop Awards weekend also allows attendees access to booths where artists and fans can share, connect, and buy merchandise.
